Recovering traditional preserving skills
Do you ever wonder how to preserve the fresh produce of summer to enjoy all through the year? Do you worry about wasting the food you have grown and feel overwhelmed by those gluts of tomatoes, courgettes and beans? I want to recover and pass on to you the traditional skills of preserving - how to pickle, ferment, bottle and can your fruit and vegetables safely and creatively. Once you know how to use a water bath for a safe seal and are confident you know what you are doing there will be no stopping you! A large pantry or a kitchen cupboard will bring huge satisfaction and I guarantee you will soon become addicted to preserving, and begin to see every crop as something that can be fermented or popped into a jar.
